With a circular dated July 27, 2021, the Ministry has extended the validity of licenses and the driver qualification card (CQC) expiring in 2022.

The Government, with the decree-law of July 23, 2021, has extended the state of emergency until December 31, 2021.

CQC deadline extension

In light of the new provisions, the MIMS has also extended the validity of driving qualifications and the documents for their issuance or confirmation.

The circular states that licenses or certificates retain their validity for the 90 days following the end of the state of emergency.

More precisely, for circulation on national territory, the validity of licenses issued in Italy is thus extended:

Extension of license expiration: from May 31, 2021 to March 31, 2022, from June 30, 2021 to 10 months from the original expiration date, from December 31, 2021 to March 31, 2022

As for the validity of the documents proving the CQC qualification, as long as they are issued in Italy and for circulation on national territory, here is the CQC deadline extension:

Extension of the cqc deadline: from May 31, 2021 to March 31, 2022, from June 30, 2021 to 10 months from the date of the original deadline, from December 31, 2021 to March 31, 2022
